Frequently Asked Questions:

1.) Who can I phone if I have questions? – Lars Nordal at 250-747-2239.

2.) Why join Ringette? - It's a fun way to learn how to skate and improve skills with lots of exercise. Both players and parents also make lots of new friends.

3.) How do I register my child? – Fill out the Registration Form and mail with payment to Quesnel Ringette. Or you can Register in person on Super Saturday (early September) at the Recreation Centre.

4.) How much does it cost? - Quesnel Ringette is proud to offer among the lowest registration fees in the province. For current fees, please see Registration Form

5.) Are any discounts available? - YES. Please see our Registration Form for complete details, including Early Registration Discount, 3rd Family Member Discount & Goalie Discount.

6.) Is financial assistance available? - YES. Apply for assistance from Kidsport BC. If you need further help, contact the Ringette Treasurer (250-747-2239) to review options. All requests are treated confidentially.

7.) Do you have an equipment swap? - YES. We have a very large equipment swap in mid August and early September. If you would like more information please call 250-747-2239. 

8.) Do you do anything else to keep costs down for families? - YES. Free used skates for first timers (assuming we have their size available in our float of 75 pairs).

9.) How many ice times per week? - The Association tries to supply two ice times per week.  Each ice time is one hour long (older players may have practice times of 90 minutes). Play starts in mid-September and runs to mid March (normally ending the week before Spring Break).

10.) What division will my child be in? - All ages are as of December 31st of the current playing season. The age groups generally followed in the sport of Ringette are as follows:

11.) What kind of equipment? - Standard protective hockey equipment - Ringette approved face mask is mandatory - it has smaller triangular shaped openings. See Player and Goalie Equipment.

11.) Does my child need to know how to skate? - NO! Our coaches are prepared to teach ALL players all the skills of Ringette and skating to the best of the child's ability.

12.) Do you allow 4 year olds to play? - YES. However, if the player has no experience on the ice, we do ask that a parent volunteer help out on the ice for at least the first few weeks.
